Shoulder to shoulder against fascism and nationalism – for a society based on solidarity!
At the European elections on May 26 nationalist and fascist parties want to strengthen the recent shift to the right in Europe. It is our task to prevent the nationalists‘ advance!
We are united in our opposition and resistance against these developments. When misantrophy and racism become socially acceptable, when the AfD and similar parties try to revert hard-won results against poverty, inequality, oppression, destruction of the environment and climate change, we fight back. Racism is no answer to social issues, so let’s fight it whenever and wherever we notice it! Let’s demand progressive gender politics which advance gender diversity and the self-determination of women*, transgender men and non-binary/genderqueer people — the time when the petit burgeois nuclear family was the only accepted model has long been over!
The shift to the right in politics and society manifests itself in particular through attacks by the increasingly authoritarian state and its institutions on all resistance from the left. This becomes evident not only through tightening of police laws, recently also in lower Saxony. Let’s also remember the criminalisation of the Kurdish movement, i.a. through the raid on the Alhambra center on 23/05/2018. The official justification was a flag containing Kurdish symbols which had been shown at the autonomous May Day protest just weeks earlier. That’s why we confirm again, as we did last year: We will not be intimidated! We will continue to support the Kurdish movement for a free, gender-liberated and ecological society, and its resistance against its enemies, especially Erdoğan’s fascist government in Turkey!
In these times of a massive shift to the right in Germany and many other European countries, of unilateralism and isolationism, it is more important than ever to take a stand for a society based on solidarity. Everywhere and without borders.
